About KV No.2, Jammu

The school is run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education (HRD), Govt. of India, New Delhi. The Vidyalaya is having classes I to XII with science Commerce and humanities streams in plus two(+2) where about 2400 students are enrolled. The school is privileged to have a profoundly learned, experienced and well qualified staff. The school has a huge triple story building with well furnished class rooms, well equipped science laboratories and a developed play ground. Besides providing quality education, the students are provided with ample opportunities to take part in cultural, sports and drawing painting competitions right from the school level to national and international level.
The school is imparting education for all-round development of the children's personality and to inculcate in them the feeling of patriotism, national integration and the feeling of universal brotherhood and thus to make them better citizens of the country. The students feel proud of their being the students of the school .Kendriya Vidyalaya No- 2 Jammu Cantt. is located near the bank of river Tawi.
It is in the midst of lush green peaceful arboreal setting. It is at a distance of 3km from Bus stand, 5km from railway station and 3km from Airport.
Inception: 15 July 76, was the inception day for K V-2 Jammu Cantt. When it began its journey towards progress in simple looking barracks of the transit camp in the interior of Jammu cantonment. With the dedicated efforts of Mr Bhushan Kumar (Principal) and the staff members, the Vidyalaya made its presence known to others.
